Hi, Nancy:

I'm wondering if courses are really necessary. I transitioned from tech
writer to business analyst, myself, based largely on tailoring my resume' to
the business analyst functions I performed in my various tech writing
positions. Honestly, for me, each of my positions could justifiably carry
titles of Technical Writer or Business Analyst; some adding to that
Instructional Designer, Training Specialist, or Implementation Specialist;
and a couple Project Manager.

So, if you're looking to make that move, consider your experience already,
and tailoring a resume' that lets employers know what you can do as a
business analyst. I'm sure others will have far more valuable posts than
mine, especially some of our folks on the list who do the hiring.

Warm regards,
Amy P.
Detroit-ish :)
