A friend who does 1099 work for MS in silicon valley
tells me that MS requires him to be self-incorporated
and self-insured, but does not subject him to an
annual 100-day layoff. I think the original poster in
that forum is calling himself a "contractor" but is really
a W2 temporary employee.
