It's not asking you to choose between them, it's asking whether you
think that tech writing is a fallback career, a sellout, both, or
neither.
If you think it's a fallback career, vote "Yes".
If you think it's a sellout, vote "Yes".
If you think it's neither a fallback career nor a sellout, vote "No"
If you're undecided, vote "Maybe"
I declined to vote because I suspect the author might have phrased it
carefully to evoke just this sort of "discussion" and, to me, it seems
a pointless question otherwise.
