We just use change bars. I tell reviewers that they
don't need to look at anything except what has a
change bar next to it, because they've already
looked at everything that doesn't. It works here,
in part because our product docs consist of many
small docs rather than one big one. If I was working
on something big, I'd probably just send reviewers
the specific pages or sections I wanted them to
look at for each review.

I collaborate on marketing writing with the marketing guy in my company.
We use an iterative approach and handoff frequently. Usually, I'll look
at the same document three or four times. And when we iterate quickly
(>3 iterations in a day), by the time I get to what is suppose to be a
final pass, I am pretty much snow blind. That is, I often read what I
think should be there rather than what is actually on the page. If I can
walk away from a text for a couple of days, I can see it clearly again.

What do you do to mitigate snow blindness? Do you know of any technique
to shorten cycle times?
