A good worker should be able to call in sick because they have a
hang-over, because a good worker will only do that very rarely.
Corollary: A worker who is being questioned on calling in sick, to the
point that HR checked his Twitter update, was already screwing up and
being watched. 

If you are "lucky" enough to have a name that is, by all appearances,
unique in the world*, you spend your life assuming that nothing you do
will ever be private. You either never do anything wrong, or you quit
apologizing for having a life. I choose the latter, since no one really
agrees on how to do the former. I'd suggest that people with non-unique
names get used to living the same way.

years ago to tell me she'd married and now had the same name as me. So
there are 2 of us. Different middle initials, though.
