Sorry to hijack, but Daniel's comment reminded me...

The single bad bit of business that I've encountered since acquiring a
MacBook Pro last November was the included Mac Mail program.

I kept noticing, when people would reply to e-mails from me, or when I'd
get my own posts back from lists, that there'd be odd gaps and chunks
missing. They'd often start in the middle of a word and could run
anywhere from a few characters to multiple sentences.

I finally caught on that Mail was doing it, and that it had been a known
problem for some time.

So, I switched to Thunderbird, removed "Mail" from my desktop, and never
looked back.

Overall then, I'm very pleased with my switch to Mac (hardly ever use
Windows or Linux at home any more), so I was especially affronted by the
Mail thing. Tsk! For shame!

Anyway, if any Mac users have noticed glitches that you attributed to
your own sloppy editing of e-mails, maybe it's Mail. It would be a
horrible thing to overlook when composing employment-seeking cover
letters.... Also not great for having your Letters-to-the-Editor
accepted for publication.
