In Word, engage *View* > *Ruler*.
Before inserting the graphic, verify that the I-beam cursor is in the
correct position.
Insert the picture.
Right-click the picture, then choose *Format Picture* from the
context-sensitive menu.
Click the *Layout* tab in the Format Picture dialog box.
Click *In line with text*, and then click *OK*.
If you're still having a positioning problem, select the graphic, and then
look at how tabs are set on the ruler.
You may also only be seeing a portion of the graphic because its original
size may be too large and a good portion of it spills off the page in Word.
Accessing Word's Format Picture dialog box once again, you may need to click
the *Size* tab and reduce the graphic size using a "by-guess and by-golly"
method. Maybe try 75% (both *Height* and *Width*) at first and see what
happens.
Best,
Chris
