If you do have a house style guide, does it mention a default
dictionary? If so, go by the rendering listed there.

Either is OK. Pick one and stick to it.

Tell the development group to pick one and stick to it. Better yet, tell
them which one to use -- the one that's consistent with your docs and
house style guide. If you don't have a style guide, start one and make
this the first entry. :-)
