Re: charging for contract work

If I had been working with the client without needing to travel on-site and
then on-site work was required, I would charge for travel if the travel time
were excessive and/or extraordinary. I don't know if I would simply charge
for the time or I would also charge for the mileage. If the travel involved
a long distance and required overnight accommodations, would you expect the
client to pick up the tab then? How is this travel different from
long-distance travel? Ask your lawyer if he charges for travel time (I think
mine does). Would you be doing billable work for this or other clients
during those 2 hours a day?

I don't know that I would explicitly charge for that travel time in this
instance, but I would factor it in when I bid the project in the first
place.
