This is a very useful thread. I am sure all of us, or at least the majority, would have faced this problem at some point.
I have tried to deal with it by converting the pdf into Word format (using one of the free pdf to word converters) make edits to the Word doc and create a pdf. But I am still to find a converter good enough to retain the formatting in the converted Word doc.
Is this a good way to deal with this issue?

Thanks

Raj

Probably a matter of interpretation, but if I started out with a PDF that had
all the pages the same size and ended up with one that didn't because Acrobat
had scaled the "new" pages differently, I would call that "affecting editing,"
not "post-editing," at least as far as the altered PDF is concerned. I'd prefer
to avoid using a method that involves re-PDFing, but if there was no other way,
I'd want to make sure the changes didn't have a big red flag to point the way to
the changes.
