Greetings, John!

Someone suggested Bluehost. I used them for a year, by which time they
began the "nickel and dime" approach to increase their revenue. When I
tried to inquire, I found their responsiveness to my inquiry to be
severely lacking--in general, their tech support was not the best.

I looked into quite a few more sites, and found that many had some
serious issues with support, as reported by various users and former
users.

I edited an ebook for a productivity site owner, who has a number of
sites that generate a fair amount of traffic. In that book, he relates
his satisfaction with Hostgator.

I explored them myself, and had a very favorable first impression. I
am in process of setting up a new blog with them, and thus far they
have been super responsive to answering any questions I had. Thus, so
far at least, I can recommend them very highly.

By the way, the ebook author also suggested using a separate site
registrar so if you ever should feel the need to move the host, it is
simple to do--the host can't play games with your registration to try
to keep you around, as Bluehost did with me. He recommends Namecheap
as the registrar he uses.

David
