If CS is part of the product development/review team, then absolutely I want
them to review docs. They are probably the closest I'll get to actual users in
the absence of beta customers.
If CS doesn't get access to the product until it is a fait accompli (not good,
but it happens that way more often than it should), I'd ask them anyway. I
wouldn't be surprised if they don't see any point in reviewing docs for products
they haven't seen yet, but in environments like that CS is often where tech
writers go to find kindred spirits to share lunchtime and happy hour grumble
sessions about lack of product access and developer support.
