When I interviewed for a position with a well-known supplier of
statistical software here in NC, they told me that the CS folks were
their right hand in figuring out what the customers needed to see in the
docs. I did not get the position (their loss?) but that statement shows
that in some companies the interaction between various departments to
solve customers' issues is seen as a Good Thing.
If anybody reading this knows "AO" at that statistical company, tell him
I said hi.
