A watched pot never boils. Go make brow-knees and check back in a while.

A gourmand I once knew made me spaghetti with cream cheese in the sauce.
I think it was V8-based, with crim chiz, handful of herb,...
It was sapid. Someone else might say "Mmmm, needs fish." Try it with
Clamato juice next time. Need I say more, cream cheeze is so rich it
makes everything taste great. Even brownies.

A taunt?! Hmmph, I shall prevail. If I can find my Newton's Dictionary.
In the meantime, I like Pierre's suggestion, but with a dash of
qualification. What about 'socket thrashing'?
'Spin cycling' is always appropriate. Limp handshake? Inflamation of the
protocol? serial mirror killer. Fumble! Junk in the trunk. Mirror
stalker condition. Amateur hour. retry rash? Sync standoffishness.
I have a trace memory of a jargon term for when modems autodial a wrong
number (a voice number :-) dozens or hundreds of times because the
operator is away from the terminal and no one notices. All the modem
knows is that it wants to get a sync tone and will try and try, over and
over. Drat, can't retrieve the any familiar terms from memory right now,
maybe later.
