Greg,
There was a small article on the Internet yesterday in which Adobe
claimed that Google neesds to "make a minor adjustment" to Chrome to
have Flash work properly in it.
It seems that your problem is not unique.
Whether Google will make that change, or whether Adobe will do its
part, remains to be seen.
With Adobe's Flash situation regarding Apple, and the growing move to
make HTML 5 play video directly and elimiante Flash entirely from the
equation, things are not looking so good for Adobe...
