The other thing about the discounted OEM software is that it cannot be
upgraded. The version you buy is the version you're stuck with.
As far as software support goes, you're on your own. When Adobe finds out
that your version is OEM, they will not help you.

Subject: Re: OEM software
Hi there
If you are talking about the SPAM ads you see offering "OEM Software" at
a HUGELY discounted price, I do believe that these are actual pirated
copies or otherwise of questionable origin. You need to be careful with
these. I was working with someone that took this avenue only to discover
they picked up a nasty virus along the way.
Cheers... Rick :)

spending nearly $2000 for a new Adobe Technical Communication Suite for a
specific project, I discovered that the Captivate 5 fonts are not
acceptable. I have to re-do a bunch of videos in Captivate 4, and I am
hesitant to spend an additional $700 for an obsolete application that I will
probably only use on the current project. Does anyone have any experience
with OEM software in general, and Adobe Captivate 4 in particular? Ideas,
suggestions, insights?
