I'd certainly consider a trade in lieu of cash. A free weekend at their
cottage (with or without them), a boat outing, lift tickets, whatever. They
have to have something that would motivate me and lessen their $ pain.
Personally, the setup is ripe for a friend to become a non-friend at some
point during the project, so I'd have to consider that. I'd also have to
decide if I'm merely being taken advantage of (not that *that's* ever
