A while back I started setting-up cygwin to work on a remote Unix server
(as a replacement for Hummingbird), but that project died before I could
get very far. I wouldn't have thought to use it locally, though. I could
see a use for that, now and then (if I was actually proficient I could
probably use it fairly often).
