This is what we're doing now. Since our printed "manual" is a pictorial hookup
guide on a foldout card and the rest of the user instructions are displayed on
the products' onboard CGD, CD-installed help or the Web, telling users to
"select <picture of button>" enables even readers who can't read the text to
find the right button by visual pattern-matching, and for localized product we
just need to have images of the translated buttons for the XML to display.
UI-based tech support calls are now at an all-time low.
