I'm using Visio Professional 2003, and it works great for me. You can
pick it up online (new, licensed, still in the shrink-wrap) for $80,
maybe less.

Subject: Which version of Visio?
After putting it off for years, I need to buy Microsoft Visio for some
client illustration work I will be doing as part of a manual. I see
there are 3 versions: Standard, Professional and Premium. I don't need
to hook Visio up to any external data sources, so I figure Standard will
work for me. Plus it's the cheapest ($250), that works too.
Does anyone have any info or opinions on these versions of Visio? Are
there any advantages to having the Professional or Premium versions from
a technical writing standpoint?
