As written, with the words used as an adjective, hyphenated.

If the sentence was inverted so that the words weren't used as
adjectives, unhyphenated:

. . . with a history of seven years . . .
... with a seven-year history . . .

Subject: Common grammar question

*Hi all, I always (ALWAYS) get confused on this, so if you could not
just tell me which is correct, but what the RULE is, I'd be very
grateful!*

... with a seven year history...
... with a seven-year history...

Which of the above is correct?

Thanks in advance

Deborah
