And that you have that method documented.  You have to document your document control process - no joke.  If you use a commercial content control system, you have to document any customizations you have applied to it.  You have to document the storage structure you use, access rules, etc.

Sorry I can't help with questions about control tools to use.  I've never used any except inhouse methods that we cobbled together.

You can use many different types of software for document control, or none at all. I've used manual doc control successfully during ISO certification.

Depending on your IT support and budget you can use products like Sharepoint (:shudder:), a recognized dedicated product like Documentum, or open source products like Subversion.

ISO certification doesn't care what you use, only that you have a method and use it consistently.
