Agreed. When I saw "specialized knowledge", I thought about my glass work. Outside of my day job, I consider myself an artist. Creating my artwork requires specialized knowledge (I've learned a lot about how glass reacts to temperature and time).

However, I don't consider it a profession (yet). To me, a profession is something from which you can make a living. I would be eating cat food and sleeping in a tent if it were my profession (and there would be no place to plug in my kilns).
