Yes, I had both in there. I had seen jobs listed in Florida for as low as $13 per hour last spring. Insane. And it was obvious they wanted to hire a secretary to do technical writing. Lots of office work plus doing manuals and white papers.

The Volt job isn't as bad, although $25 is where I was in 1986. Unfortunately, my $600 a month for a house then isn't available now, except as roommate status.

Yes. And I was responding to someone who commented he had seen ads with pay rates as low as $13.

And I agree with Chris -- this is clearly an entry-level position. I wouldn't even call it technical writing.

If you're fresh out of community college or have a year or two experience creating simple websites, this would be a good offer. If you're a senior technical writer, the job description should have caused you to move on -- unless you're out of work and willing to take such a low-level assignment while you continue to look for something more suitable.

Although even an experienced person might have trouble meeting the requirement that you have above average knowledge of "_all_ of the various drawing, presentation, and writing tools," especially "Adobe . writer." :-)
