Yep, the filters work well. I subscribe to several dozen listservs.
All the mail is filtered by each list's email (either to or from,
depending on how the list is configured) and is archived - unread - to
a variety of labels based not on listserv but on subject matter. I
then have a freed up inbox for non-list/subscription email which I can
easily manage manually, and a bunch of labels showing me how many
unread threads - not messages - I have in each label. I can hit those
as I have time. If there's a topic that I'm highly interested in, I'll
create a temporary filter to trap that in addition to its generic
label, and move that label to the top of the list.
