It is interesting to note that I have more interaction with fellow staff members, and I get more positive reinforcement and feedback in my role as a software tester than I do as a technical writer. Gives one food for thought.

I used to get this a lot:

Me: "Hi, I'm the company technical writer."
John Doe: "Oh. What's that?"

I get more of this now:

Me: "Hi, I'm one of your software testers."
John Doe: "That's cool! Do you like it?"
