I had a grey scale Sony reader for a while and loved it. When it died, I
wanted color and so the Nook Color was my option at that time. (Full
disclosure - I used to work with the PM of the Nooks but that's not why I
bought one). I'm delighted with it.

If I were to buy a new ereader today, I might go with a tablet and then
install the Kindle and Nook readers on it. My son and DIL bought Kindle
Tablets and installed the Nook software to share books with me.

I can also tell you that my new ebook - see below - is selling well on
Amazon and less well on bn.com. I think it's market size.

Hi, folks.

Ellis Pratt's 'Trends in Technical Communication' is the first time I've
come across something I'd really like to read that appears to be available
only on the Kindle.

As I understand it, the e-book world is currently duking it out, and items
available on one e-book format may not be available on another. So, if you
buy the wrong hardware you may be limited to much less content than if you
bought another. Also, some hardware has graphics and color capabilities,
some doesn't -- is that correct?

Has anyone on the list sorted through these issues?

Did such a discussion whiz by on the list and I missed it? If so, point me
in the right direction and I will dig in.

Thanks!
