I can relate to the two not sharing. I worked for a start-up, where Training ignored my style guide (which included terminology I asked them to review) although they used parts of the manuals in their training materials. As a result, I had to change a lot of my terminology because it was not what they communicated to the customers. This, after localization had begun in addition to the creation of multiple versions for pre- and post- FDA approval. Lot o'work. Department-wide style guide approval is a must! I tried, but Marketing/Training said they did not think it was "important."
