A developer is making a GUI tool. It has a button.
I'm viewing on my Windows 7 64-bit system in each of several browsers.
In Iron or Chrome, the button shows as a hair-thin outline filled with a smooth vertical gradient, pale at the top, darkening to mid-grey at the bottom. I think that's what he was aiming for.
In Opera, that same button is a hair-thin outline filled with a non-descript flat medium gray (no gradient).
In IE9, that same button is an outline with just blank white fill. No grey. No gradient....... at least.... that's what it pretends.
I wanted, via e-mail, to show the developer what I mean.
I used FastStone Capture to grab the relevant few square inches from each browser.
The captures from Iron and Opera are faithful.
The capture from IE9 looks identical to the one from Opera.
In other words, there's a non-gradient grey fill that is NOT visible in the actual browser.
I tried the Windoze standard [Ctrl][Shift][PrntScrn].
Same result.
I tried Snipping Tool.
Same result.
I tried any of the capture options followed by pasting into Paint.
The grey fill is there.
>From any of the capture options, I tried saving as .png, .jpg or .gif.
The grey fill that's not visible in the browser is visible in the capture, regardless.
I know I can go into Paint (or other graphic app) and do a fill, or just erase/overwrite the grey, but is there another way that doesn't involve spending money?
