I'd defer to anyone who's give lots of presentations before, but I'm sure
if you find an image you like and can track down its source, all you need
to do is ask for permission and your butt be doth covered.
I've seen public images in presentations, with links back to the source. I
don't know if these presenters went so far as to speak to the creators, but
most websites ask for at least a credit and a link if you don't get a
chance to talk to them.
