Hi Robert,

We use a set of open-source DocBook stylesheets with some customizations. We use the stylesheets to generate xsl:fo (which we process with a proprietary tool called RenderX to get PDF) and ePub (we generate Kindle books using Amazon's ePub to Kindle converter, kindlegen).

The DocBook stylesheets also can generate HTML (including HTML5), CHM, java help, web help, and no doubt some other formats I've forgotten:-).

If you're interested in DocBook, check out http://sagehill.net for information about the stylesheets and http://docbook.org or http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/ for information about the DocBook standard.
