Hi Tony and Everyone Else,
Good questions. I only use ONE card, and I use them to give to visitors and at conferences. The demographic for most of the people I work with is non-computer savvyâbelieve it or not. I have three signatures for e-mails which change depending on the hat I'm wearing.
As to why so many hats? The nature of the beast I guess :)
It is not that the "company" won't let me have more than one title, it is that my contract will only allow for one title. I can have 10 titles if I want, but officially in the contract, I have only the 1 title, which was chosen because no one knew what to call me and they didn't think of asking me when they finalized everything!
I kind of like Leybl's suggestion, and maybe I'll suggest: English Communications (that would cover everything, including the multi-media that I help with...). That is simple as well... don't know why I didn't think of that before!
Any other suggestions?
Thanks all! Great suggestions and questions!
Debbie

Hi Debbie,
When do you use these cards? Do you represent the different roles at different events? If the company won't let you have more than one title, is there a problem with just having multiple cards to use for different purposes?
A go-to title could be: "Ask me" (like on Starbucks custom beverages)
A question could be: Who uses business cards nowadays anyway? I show QR codes and email vcards . ;-)

Hi Everyone,
I'd really appreciate your input on something. Many of you have been following my activities since I came back to Israel... and we all know how important good communication is, particularly when people want to know what we do.
I need to have new business cards printed here at work, and can only have one title on it. My problem, I have "several" titles and an official title for administrative purposes. Could you help me find a "one size fits all" title that could somehow reflect what I am doing officially?
My title for the Personnel office is:
English Editor for the Administration
Here are my officially recognized titles by everyone I work with, including my immediate supervisor: (I even have three different signatures set up for my emails!)
Editorial Assistant, Rambam Maimonides Medical Journal (administrative tasks, copy editing, DTP, software requirements for the manuscript system, and more)
English Editor and Writer for the Administration, Marketing, and International Relations (everything from letters to certificates, websites, newsletters, marketing collateral, manuscripts for publication, and more...)
Christian Friends of Rambam Representative, International Relations (involves writing a newsletter for the Christian audience, and meeting/speaking to Christian groups who come to visit)
I'd really appreciate your thoughts and advice on what to call myself. NO ONE here has any comprehension of Technical Communication (which is definitely part of what I do).
Thanks in advance
Debbie
