TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
An interesting experiment - I'm assuming the purpose of the event was to raise awareness about wage gaps and advocate for raising the minimum wage?
I don't think I'd ever be so transparent as to post my salary on Twitter, but I do like sites like glassdoor.com if I need to do salary research while job hunting. It seems way too easy to get depressed/upset when you see a stranger on Twitter who works in your field and makes ten grand more than you, without taking into account factors that 140 characters may not include, like location and experience level.

I haven't seen any technical writers posting to the tag (and I won't
either), but the salaries of various tech workers and other workers are
interesting. I understand the rationale for wanting to do this, even if
most people are not in a position to post this type of information.
