For something as simple as freelancing on a 1099 basis, if you hire an
accountant you're basically paying them a steep hourly rate to use
essentially the same software you can buy. My sister-in-law is an
accountant and enrolled agent, and for most people who have small
businesses she says use TurboTax.

What your accountant filed was presumably a 2210. TurboTax will file
that automatically if appropriate.
