FWIW:

Just as a point of fact, back in 2005 I used Acrobat Pro and it did things
that the standard version couldn't, as I discovered when I changed jobs
later in the year. Unfortunately, after so many years I don't recall what
the difference was. It could be that other programs have picked up those
abilities in the meantime.
