So then, I may be able to contact labor board and IRS about this issue? Hmmmmm..... will have to see how to do that. They did require hours pay by hours, but they didn't exactly declare me as an employee, but more like a contractor. I need to look at my contract and if I remember right, it hours by pay, but not employee exactly.

Thanks,

I have things to look at. Not sure how this will end up. Mostly worried they will try to create a 1099 next year saying they paid me and I have to show account records they didn't. Otherwise, I write it off next year in taxes, and I will make sure Lumen21 is given an bad name.

Not necessarily separate since being misclassified can give somebody a
lot of leverage. Neither the agency nor their client probably want to
talk with the IRS or labor board about this.

Separate issues. If the agency and client imposed enough controls on the
workplace and hours to make 1099 classification improper, you can pursue
that complaint. You might have to file a separate complaint to get the
delinquent pay.

Not so cut and dried with 1099 as with W-2. Any chance you were
improperly classified as an independent contractor? Did you have to
work on site at specified hours?
