I started getting email from LinkedIn about really random jobs, so I went to the Jobs section and created a custom search. Now it seems back to how it was before.

All of the job sites will pull key words like "writer," "project," "plan," etc., and send you any job that fits any word unless you set up
custom searches that require jobs to fit more than one word.

Well, I reactivated the email from the custom alerts that I already had, and the result of those searches is what I expect: relevant results that match the alerts' criteria.

But what seems totally separate from the email for specific alerts is that LinkedIn is still sending me "Monique: <List of several companies> are looking for candidates like you" daily email messages where the majority of the posts are for lead engineering, account manager, and analyst sorts of jobs.

**** Any idea what LinkedIn settings control this "looking for candidates like you" email? I can't find anything beyond choosing "Daily Emails" or "Periodic Emails" in the Jobs and opportunities > Details > Email alerts about jobs you may be interested in...

And not likely related, but just last week I started noticing that when I looked at my LinkedIn page, there were messages in my LinkedIn inbox that hadn't been forwarded to my email account! I found that LinkedIn's profile settings had changed on me, and now I was receiving email on the "Recommended" delivery schedule, not "Individual Emails" as I'd previously selected. I understand LinkedIn wanting us to do more of our activity within their app/website itself vs. our personal email Inboxâthis way they get more eyeballs on their advertising. (A related change they've made is to send only part of the message in email, forcing me to view the full message on the LinkedIn site. And then if I reply from the LinkedIn app/website, I cannot include my personal email address in order to keep a copy in my personal email Inbox. Again, annoying, but understandable from their perspective.) But changing things on the backend and leaving it to us users to discover is rather user-unfriendly.
