Putting open-source documentation behind a login would seem likely to
confuse customers, who expect open documentation. Getting people to
pay for documentation seems like an even worse business model than
trying to get them to pay for support.
The stuff I've been working on in recent years has all been heavily
protected, valuable intellectual property, rather the opposite of
open-source.
