Nick is a good one to read.

Another pearl of wisdom: When you are asked your current salary, name the salary range for which you are aiming.

If you google around a bit, Liz Ryan has scripts you can use for when you're discussing these things. Along with asking for THEIR salary. Provided you have the nerve, of course.

Nick Corcodilos has that same thought: http://www.asktheheadhunter.com/ He rips up fake job boards and fake resume outfits (some are names you think you trust), and has almost no good words for HR departments.

Corcodilos also warns never to reveal your current salary.

NEVER give your SSN until you are hired.

I think wanting the DOB is because they are not allowed to ask your age.
