Also, I have a hard time accepting professional writing advice from
someone who looks younger than my career.

Definitely lots of things to critique in the piece, but... Just as us
writers with plenty of seniority are rightly concerned with ageism from
our younger cohorts, we should be cautious in assuming that we've
nothing to learn from someone who's younger than us.
