I agree with Mary Beth. The thought of a discipline operating without a
paradigm is a bit other-worldish. Certainly, disciplines are often caught in
paradigm shifts when the community member might have trouble identifying the
dominant one, but they are always there.
I find Mary Beth's two paradigm suggestions interesting. When one is in
a university setting for awhile, he often loses touch with the outside
industry. That's why I find this list so interesting. Tell me, has the
