Last fall I took a 3-day DynaText course, and at that time, nope, DynaText
sure couldn't be distributed for free. The 3-day course wasn't for learning
how to use DynaText's browser, which is fairly painless (SGI's implementation
is nice), but to use the 'back end'--InStEd, the Instance Editor. The nicest
thing I can say about InStEd is that I didn't like it. I'd rather use FrameMaker
and FrameViewer. (That's coming from someone who likes Interleaf.)

I know some other people who feel differently, but they have very strong
requirements to use SGML.

Some of these companies admit that the marketplace will soon force them to
give away their browsers/viewers. In the meantime, they continue to accept
checks.

Let us know which package you finally choose.
