As for myself, I hold a degree in foreign languages with a strong minor (27
credit/hrs) in English. My position title is technical writer, but my
responsibilities are editor, graphic artist, multimedia developer, and CBT
designer. The fact that I had a degree helped to get me interviewed. The fact
that I had been published, was a good writer, had been trained in Germany as
a graphic artist, and had experience got me hired. I believe that, in my
case, the critical factor in the hiring decision was my experience, not my
degree.

This has been one man's opinion
