I've used FrameMaker to compile UNIX help. In fact, I just finished one
item up today, and I expect to be doing -a lot- more in the near future.

Just some quick background, our product comes with a Sun workstation built
in, and an GUI operating system that (of course) run on UNIX. My department
supplies the help files built into the machine (as well as paper
documentation). The customers seem happy with it, and the engineers
consider the creation and inclusion of the on-line help essential.

They like it so much, most of them have learned Frame basics themselves.

One final advantage to using Frame to build on-line help: They tell you how
to take apart -their own- on-line help (which of course was built in Frame)
so that you can see examples of how it was done.

Good luck getting a demo, I don't know what's available. I think you'd find
it a good choice, though.
