Be careful using the open palm for international documents. It's an insulting
gesture in some cultures ;-)
William Horton has an excellent book on icons & graphics. It's called
"Illustrating Computer Documentation" (ISBN 0-471-53845-0). It was used in a
class that I took with him. Note: I have *no* financial interest in this
book - it's just a good book. It has lots of good examples.
