Sorry for the confusion. DeBabelizer runs on a Mac, but it converts between
lots of UNIX, Mac, and PC formats. By offering numerous options and
settings, it allows you to tweak your images so they look as good as
possible. For example, we use it to process screen captures into 16-color,
non-dithered grays. This way they print very well in single-color manuals.
This is our standard procedure regardless of whether the source files came
from a Mac or a PC. You do need a Mac to run it, however :-(

The program comes from Equiibrium Technologies (415)332-4343/ I'm sorry I
don't have an 800 number.
