Friends,

I'm looking for some small (software) tool that will help me create
lists.

Specifically, I'm thinking of the Copy/Paste function common to Windows
programs, which I use now to move information between documents. It
works, but the "clipboard" holds only one copied item at a time. What
I'd like to be able to do is to page through a long document (the daily
digest of TECHWR-L messages is a great example) and create a sequence of
small clips (a table of contents). Creating a TOC of subject headers
for the messages I save is one specific example.

That is, I'd like to be able to accumulate a series of clips using the
Copy function without having to go over to another open document or area
of the same document and Paste the clipboard contents.

Am I missing something totally obvious that is already available in
Windows? :*) Is someone using a tool like this now? Replies to the list
might be useful to others, but I'll be happy to summarize and post any
suggestions that come my way. Thanks.

I also want to comment briefly on the excellent content of postings
lately. For a while, discussions were tracking pretty far off subject,
and I know one or two folks here who signed off the list as a result.
Too much work sorting wheat from chaff. Following the DC conference
(maybe the AC provoked lots of new ideas) the content has significantly
improved. Keep up the good postings!
