Has anybody ever successfully run crack and peel adhesive backed paper
through an inkjet printer?

Yup. Do it all the time with Avery self-adhesive address labels on an HP
Deskwriter. Run a test sheet first *every* time, since
o different printer models have different weird paper paths
o different batches of adhesive, *even from the same manufacturer*,
have different tolerances(sp?) for bending and twisting

Good luck!
