Technical Writing Job Announcement

Datastream Systems, Inc., the world leader in maintenance management
software, has an immediate opening for a technical writer in its
Technical Communications Group. As part of a five-person
documentation group housed in the development department, this writer
will write and edit software user manuals and on-line documents.

Datastream Systems is a leading developer and supplier of computerized
maintenance management systems. It develops specialized applications
software for scheduling maintenance tasks, maintaining repair and
maintenance histories, and controlling inventories and staffing
levels.

Datastream is nine years old and has over 7,000 customers world wide,
including over half of the Fortune 500 companies. It currently has
150 employees and is growing 50 percent a year. The company offers
its employees a casual work environment; state-of-the-art equipment
and tools; private offices; a medical, dental, vision, prescription,
and life benefits package; and a 401K program.

Datastream is located in Greenville, SC, one of the fastest growing
areas in the country. Greenville is rapidly becoming a world
engineering center and has more engineers (10,000) per capita of any
county in the United States. The Greenville/Spartanburg metropolitan
population exceeds 800,000 and is located in the foothills of the Blue
Ridge Mountains on I-85 between Charlotte, NC, and Atlanta, GA.

Position requirements:
z degree or advanced degree in technical writing or a related field
z experience in or interest in software documentation
z knowledge of software documentation principles
z proficiency in Microsoft Windows
z proficiency in Microsoft Word for Windows 6.0
z experience with on-line help software, such as RoboHelp
