CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS TO A
COLLECTION OF ESSAYS ON INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION
Carl Lovitt and Dixie Goswami invite submissions to a proposed
collection of essays on Redefining Professional Communication as an
International Discipline: Implications for Teaching and Research.
The primary purpose of the volume is to suggest appoaches to studying
and teaching professional communication that reflect how
internationalization has transformed communication practices in
different professional settings.
We are interested in contributions that
--examine how internationalization has transformed specific
communication practices (e.g., document design, information transfer,
professional correspondence, technologically mediated communication,
visual communication, etc.);
--identify what students and communication professionals need to
know and be able to do in international professional contexts;
--propose innovative teaching strategies for preparing students
to communicate in international professional settings; and/or
--suggest directions for future research in international
professional communication.
We especially welcome submissions based on research in professional
settings or on classroom-based collaborations with corporate partners.
To submit a proposal for consideration, please send a working title,
150-word abstract, and a brief (2-page) c.v. to Carl Lovitt, Department
